The following is a press statement
by Keith Hay energy advocate of Environment Colorado on Gov. Ritter’s
announcement of Vestas’ new manufacturing plants.
Colorado’s windy plains continue to be a cash crop, now for green collar
jobs. Gov. Ritter’s leadership in building the New Energy Economy resulted in today’s
announcement by Vestas that they are bringing more jobs to the state.
Colorado has always been an energy leader.
By investing now in our abundant renewable resources such as wind and
solar, Colorado will continue to be leading clean energy provider for decades
to come. Vestas’ expanding investment in Colorado shows the success of that
plan.
Gov. Ritter has made Colorado a model for providing sensible solutions to
meeting energy needs, and it’s paid off. Plugging in to the homegrown power of
our windy plains and sunny skies has brought clean power, economic growth, and
energy security to Colorado.
