Environment America Can’t Support Exxon CEO for Secretary of State, Perry for Energy

Environment America can’t support President-elect Trump’s choice of Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson to serve as secretary of state or former Gov. Rick Perry (Tex.) as secretary of energy. Environment America President Douglas Phelps issued the following statement:

“Environment America can’t support either of these nominations. Both have obviously been successful in their respective careers, but their record on climate and energy policy do not demonstrate the commitment to a new renewable energy economy the world needs in the 21st century. They would be plausible and understandable nominees in 1916, but not 2016.”
