Wrangell School District awarded funds for electric school bus

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s Clean School Bus Rebate Program will provide $5 billion over five years to school districts buying electric buses. This year, the administration is awarding just under a billion dollars in grants, and Alaska’s own Wrangell School District will be awarded funds to help purchase their first electric school bus.

Electric school buses reduce greenhouse gas pollution and ensure cleaner air for students.

There will be four more years for schools to apply for electric school bus funding. Alaska districts should make plans to begin transitioning their fleets and take advantage of this funding.
