2012 Election Endorsements
Environment America enthusiastically endorses President Barack Obama for re-election. Today, thanks in part to President Obama’s leadership, America is getting twice as much energy from solar and wind power as four years ago, our cars are getting the best gas mileage in history, and emissions of carbon pollution are at a 17-year low. President Obama’s new standards for mercury, smog and soot pollution will clean our air and save more than 46,000 lives. With America’s environment continuing to face enormous challenges, President Obama deserves the opportunity to build on his record of environmental accomplishment in a second term.

Today, thanks in part to President Obama’s leadership, America is getting twice as much
energy from solar and wind power as four years ago, our cars are getting the best gas
mileage in history, and emissions of carbon pollution are at a 17-year low. President Obama’s
new standards for mercury, smog and soot pollution will clean our air and save more than
46,000 lives. With America’s environment continuing to face enormous challenges, President
Obama deserves the opportunity to build on his record of environmental accomplishment in a
second term.
In addition, Environment America has made the following endorsements for U.S. Congress. We
consulted legislative voting records, candidate surveys and public statements to choose the
candidate in each of these races who would work harder for environmental protection and
preservation. More support for the environment in Congress could make all the difference for
our air, water and open spaces. We strongly recommend these individuals for your vote.
