Green Majority in the Senate

Environment America Action Fund works to support a “green majority” in the Senate. In addition to our endorsements, we have also supported work in the following states:

Alaska: Environment America Action Fund contributed $200,000 to an independent effort in support of the U.S. Senate race of Dr. Al Gross, an environmentally-minded independent. Gross is running as the Democratic nominee to unseat incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan.  While his claim to fame is that he killed a bear (in self-defense), we support Al Gross for his opposition to Pebble Mine.  The Pebble Mine — proposed at the headwaters of the planet’s greatest wild salmon fishery in Bristol Bay, Alaska — threatens the communities and ecosystems that depend on the bay’s abundant wildlife.

Colorado: Environment America Action Fund has provided ongoing support to  Fair Share Action for their efforts to elect John Hickenlooper to the U.S. Senate.

Michigan: Environment America Action Fund ran a radio ad against Gary Peters’ opponent in the U.S. Senate race.

Iowa: Environment America Action Fund contributed $50,000 to LCV Victory Fund, for their work to elect Theresa Greenfield.

Montana: Environment America Action Fund contributed $50,000 to Hunters and Anglers Leadership Fund for their work to elect Steve Bullock.
