Dear President Biden,

The California Sonoran desert is home to sensitive wildlife species including Chuckwalla lizards, desert tortoises and Sonoran pronghorn. Under the Trump administration, the area was threatened by development and mining claims. We urge you to protect the California desert before these animals’ homes are fragmented or destroyed.

Please create the Chuckwalla National Monument and protect the public lands to the east of Joshua Tree National Park.
