OAKLAND, Calif. – California’s coastal waters are home to 15 individual whale species, but their populations face significant threats from human activities. Environment California Research & Policy Center and Frontier Group’s new interactive map, released Thursday, provides a user-friendly platform for Californians to explore which whales live in the state’s marine environment and the human threats to each species’ population.
