Climate change, plastic pollution, wildlife disappearing forever: the damage being done to our planet is heartbreaking. But solutions are all around us: solar and wind power, electric cars and buses, and on and on.
Environment America’s mission is to transform our ideas and imaginations into change that makes our world a greener and healthier place.
We build support for clean, renewable energy. Across the country, we helped convince California, New Mexico, Washington state, Maine and others to commit to 100 percent zero-carbon electricity.
We campaign against pollution and climate change. We’ve won $250 million in penalties and actions from ExxonMobil and other polluting companies and programs to reduce carbon pollution, from Colorado to Massachusetts.
We protect wildlife and wild places. We won the nation’s first statewide bans of single-use plastic bags in California and single-use polystyrene foam in Maine.
We do what it takes to turn public opinion and political momentum toward a greener, healthier world.
Becoming an Environment America Intern
If you agree that it’s time to solve these big environmental problems, the best thing you can do to get involved is to apply to be an Environment America intern. We’re looking for students who care deeply about the environment and are ready to make a difference now.
As an intern:
- You’ll learn how to analyze environmental problems, push for smart solutions, and build the public support it takes to win.
- You’ll work side-by-side with one of our advocates, learning the ropes.
- And you’ll attend briefings and trainings to learn even more about environmental issues and gain organizing skills.

We are hiring interns nationwide. Please indicate on your application which office you are applying for.
