Solar power

Make it easier for schools to go solar

California needs as much solar as possible to build a cleaner future and meet our urgent climate goals. Some of the best places for solar panels are rooftops and parking lots, where they don’t disturb open land and generate energy right where it’s needed.

Last year state regulators slashed programs that help school districts, farms, commercial buildings and other facilities with multiple electric meters afford solar panels. SB 1374 will restore the ability of these buildings to use their own solar energy, incentivizing more solar panels on these prime locations. Tell your Assemblymember to vote yes on SB 1374 to help schools go solar on their rooftops and parking lots.
