Each year Americans waste 30-40% of our food. That’s an enormous waste of resources that contributes to a variety of environmental problems. Experts estimate that food waste alone contributes to 8% of global warming emissions. Addressing food waste presents an opportunity to solve a major environmental problem, while also addressing a significant social problem: hunger.

We invite you to join this national briefing for state lawmakers and staff, “How states can tackle food waste and hunger at the same time” on Thursday, February 23rd 2pm ET/11am PT. At this briefing experts will share about legislative opportunities to reduce food waste and answer questions.
