100% renewable hat headed to senator’s office gift swap
Environment America's signature 100% renewable energy hat making cameo appearance this holiday season

Last night at a clean energy happy hour in western Massachusetts, Johanna Neumann, Senior Director of our Campaign for 100% Renewable Energy delivered to U.S. Senator Ed Markey’s Regional Director, Kristen Elechko, a 100% renewable energy hat, as an item for Senator Markey’s office’s holiday gift swap.
“I hope it’s a hit,” Neumann wrote in a follow-up email to Elechko.
Senator Markey has long been a champion of renewable energy and bold goal-setting. The 100% renewable energy hat is part of a legacy of campaigning for 100% renewable energy policy on campuses, municipalities and state capitols throughout the country. The hat played a starring visibility role in Environment California’s campaign to pass SB100 in 2018 and has made appearances ever since.
