Solar energy in Massachusetts gets boost
Massachusetts received $156 million from the EPA's Solar for All program to help more Bay Staters harness solar power

In an effort to boost how much energy America gets from the sun, the EPA awarded the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources $156 million to promote solar adoption . Most of the funds will directly fund of solar photovoltaic projects and support initiatives such as zero interest residential loans, residential leasing programs, and community solar.
““This grant will help Massachusetts realize its solar energy potential,” said Johanna Neumann, acting director of Environment Massachusetts.
Massachusetts can power itself many times over by harnessing the rays of the sun, the strength of the wind, and the heat of the earth.
“We have a choice. We can power our lives with clean renewable power or continue using polluting energy sources. Grants like this will help us choose the former,” said Neumann.
