Olympic Climate Action

Times have changed, and in the midst of this biggest environmental challenge to humankind, our forests—particularly our older forests, our carbon workhorses—are far more valuable for their contribution to solving our climate crisis than they are for their stumpage. Unfortunately, current carbon markets don’t adequately value this ecosystem service, and international agreements are far too weak, so we must speak up for these forests—and for our own future. And we must call out the disinformation coming from the timber industry and their captive agencies and politicians, who would have us believe that liquidating these forests can magically heal the planet. We must speak for the trees—and the whole living tapestry woven around them.
