Defend the highly endangered Rice’s whale
With only 51 Rice’s whales left, we need to take every measure to save them. But rather than helping this endangered whale, some in Congress want to block key protections for the Rice’s whale. U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins (La.) has introduced legislation to stop the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s proposed plan to protect the endangered Rice’s whale from speeding boats and other threats.
To give these whales a chance to survive, we need to slow down our boats in their small habitat in the Gulf of Mexico. But this bill would block that from happening, leaving these extremely rare whales in the lurch and driving them toward extinction.
Tell your U.S. House representative: This bill would drive the endangered Rice’s whale toward extinction.
