Stop plastic pollution from threatening wildlife

Dear Gov. Polis and the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment,

Microscopic bits of colored plastic recently were found in 90% of Colorado water samples. One important step in reducing plastic pollution is to require the companies that use plastic packaging to pay for the environmental impacts of those materials — an approach known as “producer responsibility.” This step will incentivize companies to use less plastic packaging and transition to more recyclable and reusable products. I strongly urge you to implement a strong producer responsibility system in Colorado.
