Tell Procter & Gamble to do its part to protect the boreal forest
P&G CEO Jon Moeller,
We, the undersigned, urge Procter & Gamble to help save the boreal forest by committing to reduce the amount of virgin wood fibers in your tissue products by 50% or more by 2025.
Every year, 1 million acres of boreal trees are cut down, just to become tissues, toilet paper and other paper products. We shouldn’t be flushing the boreal forest down the toilet.
P&G should incorporate more recycled and forest-free fibers in its home paper products, including Charmin toilet paper, Puffs tissues and Bounty paper towels. P&G’s Charmin Ultra Bamboo toilet paper is a step in the right direction and we hope it is available online again soon.
The majority of your shareholders have already voted in favor of P&G lessening its impact on forests. Your company should do more to protect our world’s forests.
