Tell 3M: Stop polluting the Mississippi with “forever chemicals”
PFAS “forever chemicals” are toxic, long-lasting and linked to a number of health issues, from cancer to weakened immune response. It’s great that 3M has committed to phasing out PFAS. That’s all the more reason the company should not be asking Minnesota officials for permission to dump any more PFAS into the Mississippi River from its Cottage Grove facility. Once these chemicals are in the environment, they’re here to stay. To protect people, wildlife and one of our nation’s most iconic waterways, I urge 3M to stop all its releases of PFAS into the Mississippi River and other waterways.
