Tell the FWS: Don’t remove protections for endangered Southern sea otters
We, the undersigned, urge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to keep Endangered Species Act protections for Southern sea otters. Once numbering in the hundreds of thousands, fewer than 3,000 Southern sea otters remain today. These otters, which only occupy 13% of their historical range, are not yet out of the woods.Last year’s Huntington Beach oil spill was a reminder that threats to otters are ongoing. Federal protections are necessary to ensure that the Southern sea otter and its habitat are protected.
