Urge Congress: Save America’s grasslands
America’s prairies and grasslands — places ‘where the deer and antelope play’ — hold a special place in our imaginations. But less than 4% of tallgrass prairies in the U.S. remain, and across all of North America, only 38% of grasslands remain.
This loss of nature is devastating to wildlife. Grassland birds have seen their populations cut in half since 1970. Bee and butterfly numbers are plummeting. Bison thundering across the plains? Mostly that’s a thing of the past.
Thankfully, there’s a bipartisan plan in Congress to help keep grasslands intact. Send your Senators a message and urge them to pass the American Prairie Conservation Act.
