Chicagoland suburbs can’t afford to extend coal contracts

The Daily Herald published our Opinion-Editorial regarding climate pollution from the Prairie State coal plant

Chicago area suburbs have until April 30, 2025 to decide whether or not to extend their reliance on coal power from the downstate Prairie State Generating Station for an additional 15 years past 2035. Our new analysis of 2022 data shows that Prairie State is the 12th worst climate polluter in the country.
