The Chicagoland Region is participating in the City Nature Challenge
A weekend of community science connects Chicagoans to nature in our own neighborhoods.

While taking a walk, have you paused to take a photo of a bee on a flower or a bird on a branch? Consider participating in the City Nature Challenge!
From April 25-28, 2025 the Chicagoland Region is participating in the City Nature Challenge. This challenge engages community members in collecting data about the nature that we share this wonderful region with. In an all out “bioblitz,” members of the public are invited to look for wild plants and animals, record observations and take photos of your observations. You can join the challenge yourself on iNaturalist.
