U.S. DOT announces new round of Alternative Fuel Corridors

The U.S. Department of Transportation announces the sixth and largest-ever round of Alternative Fuel Corridor designations to expedite the development of a nationwide electric charging network. States will have access to $5 billion in formula funding through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program to build EV charging stations in these designated corridors.

The electrification of our nation’s vehicle fleet, along with increasing access to walking, cycling, and public transit, and decreasing total vehicle miles traveled, will reduce transportation emissions and clean up our air. A nationwide EV charger network will help make this ambitious goal possible.
