Statement: President Biden expected to cancel Keystone XL pipeline permit

President Joe Biden is expected to cancel the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline upon taking office, according to media reports. This order would override President Donald Trump’s attempts to speed up developmentof the pipeline, and it would put an end to construction efforts on the project. If completed, the pipeline would have disrupted sensitive ecosystems. Tar sands are one of the dirtiest polluting sources of oil on the planet.
