Gina McCarthy’s Nomination for EPA Administrator Advances to Full Senate

Environment Missouri

Saint Louis, MO — One week after Senator Vitter (R-LA) and other Republican senators on the U.S. Senate Committee for Environment & Public Works (EPW) boycotted her initial scheduled committee vote, the EPW Committee today advanced Gina McCarthy’s nomination for Environmental Protection Agency Administrator to the full Senate. Stuart Keating, state advocate with Environment Missouri, issued the following statement:

“Today, Missourians moved one step closer to having Gina McCarthy protect our health and environment as head of the Environmental Protection Agency. McCarthy’s stellar track record of delivering real results for clean air and clean water—under Republican and Democratic administrations alike—should make her Senate approval a foregone conclusion, and we urge the full Senate to move quickly to confirm her.”
