Tell Whole Foods: It’s time to take the lead on reducing your plastic footprint
Send a message to Whole Foods today, urging it to eliminate harmful single-use plastic packaging from its stores.
To spare birds, fish and other wildlife from the harm caused by plastic pollution, we’re urging states, major corporations and plastic producers to to reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in our environment.
Every day, people throw away millions of pieces of single-use plastic “stuff” — and too much of it ends up polluting our environment. By design, plastic takes hundreds of years to fully degrade — which means every piece of plastic ever produced is still out there, sitting in landfills or floating in the ocean, waiting to be mistaken as a deadly piece of food by a bird, turtle or whale.
Nothing we use for a few minutes should be allowed to pollute our oceans and rivers for hundreds of years. That’s why we’re calling for a statewide ban on single-use plastics across the country. But we aren’t stopping there. We are also calling on plastic producers to stop generating all of this single-use plastic we just don’t need.
