Looking Back on our Trailhead Tour — and Looking Forward to Climate Action

As the summer comes to a close, we share some of our favorite pictures from our Trailhead Tour.

Climate change is one of the greatest threats to our public lands – it reduces snowpack and stream flows, causes habitat loss, and worsens wildfire season. The EPA’s research and clean air regulatory programs are our greatest line of defense against climate change, but President Trump’s budget threatens to slash these programs in half.

This summer, we stopped by trailheads around the state to raise awareness about what’s at risk. We chatted with hikers, bikers, hitch-hikers, full-time RVers, and even a couple rattlesnake hunters! One of the things we’ve learned is that there’s a million different ways to get out and enjoy this beautiful state. But, whatever you’re into, what seems to unite all Montanans is a passion for our wild spaces. It was inspiring to see so many folks rally together to protect the plaves we love so much.

We hope to see you on the trail next year! Until then, we hope you enjoy some of our favorite photos from the trip.
