A bill to protect the Ruby Mountains
Senator Cortez Masto's bill will protect 450,000 acres of forest in Nevada from oil and gas drilling
The Ruby Mountain Protection act will protect 450,000 acres of forest from oil and gas drilling as well as protecting the 39,926 acre Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The area is habitat for mule deer, mountain goats, bighorn sheep and Himalayan Snowcock and brook, rainbow, and threatened Lahontan Cutthroat Trout swim in the waters of the lakes and streams.
We need to protect our public lands for generations to come, not loot them for their mineral wealth at the expense of us all. Nevadans support this legislation and we hope the U.S. Senate will agree.
