Tell Bank of America: Don’t finance deforestation

Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan:

We urge you to commit to better policies to protect the rainforests.

Deforestation is destroying biodiverse ecosystems and threatening rare wildlife, including orangutans, Sumatran tigers, tropical birds and jaguars. Just last year, the world lost 9 million acres of tropical forest.

Bank of America shouldn’t finance any companies contributing to deforestation. The industries driving global deforestation include soy, palm oil, beef and wood products.

JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup have developed new deforestation policies. By adopting equally strong requirements to reduce your clients’ negative impacts on rainforests, you can help prevent damage to these wild places.
