Tell Orville Redenbacher: No bee-killing pesticides on popcorn seeds
Our pollinators are in trouble. In the past two decades, the American bumblebee population has plummeted by 90%, and other bee species are in trouble. It’s a trend that could be devastating for the natural world, our food supply and way of life if we allow it to continue.
One of the biggest threats to bees is neonicotinoid pesticides, which can paralyze or kill pollinators who encounter them, and yet currently, 150 million acres of America’s crops are planted with neonics.
I’m urging you to join the shift toward pollinator-friendly agriculture by publicly committing to buying corn from farmers who don’t use neonicotinoid pesticides.
