On Monday July 23, Representative Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) introduced a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that addresses greenhouse gas emissions, the primary driver of global warming. Pennsylvania Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) joined him as a co-sponsor.

Andrea McGimsey, senior director of Global Warming Solutions at Environment America, recognized their action with the following statement:

“We are grateful to Rep. Curbelo for stepping forward with this proposal. Climate change affects all of us – regardless of political party – and we are encouraged to see Republican members of Congress calling for action to address the problem.  We look forward to working with them and their colleagues to pass a bill that has broad support and that meets the challenge of climate change.”
