WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, four Senate Republicans —  Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.) and Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) — launched a “new informal coalition to broaden the Republican conference’s approach to environmental policy beyond its crusade to overturn EPA regulations,” according to Politico.

Anna Aurilio, director of Environment America’s Washington, D.C. office, issued the following statement:

“The quality of the environment is not a partisan issue. Clean air, clean water, and open spaces are values Americans hold dear no matter their political affiliation. Indeed, poll after poll shows broad support across party lines for measures to curb pollution, address the climate crisis, protect our waterways, and preserve treasured landscapes. We’re encouraged by this effort and look forward to working with these senators to advance a greener, cleaner healthier future.”
