Amazon* shareholders fail in opportunity to cut plastic waste

A shareholder proposal aimed at getting Amazon.com, Inc. to reduce its significant plastic footprint did not garner the necessary votes to pass at the company’s annual meeting Wednesday. The proposal did earn a notable 35 percent of the vote.

Statement: Clean Energy for America Act advances in the Senate

WASHINGTON -- The Senate Finance Committee advanced the Clean Energy for America Act Wednesday. The bill introduced by Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon and more than 20 colleagues would replace a patchwork of more than 40 energy tax policies with three categories of tax incentives for clean electricity, clean transportation and energy efficiency. The bill also eliminates subsidies for fossil fuels and nuclear generation.

Statement: Biden puts spotlight on electric vehicles with trip to Ford plant

WASHINGTON -- President Joe Biden is visiting a Ford Motor electric vehicle manufacturing plant Tuesday, where he is expected to view the new 2023 F-150 Lightning. The president has proposed building 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations and providing consumers rebates and tax incentives to accelerate electric vehicle manufacturing in the United States and help more people purchase electric cars.
