Today, at the 2018 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit hosted by Second Nature and The Intentional Endowments Network, a coalition of 13 world-class North American research universities launched the University Climate Change Coalition (UC3). The coalition is committed to using collaboration, research and their collective resources to help communities accelerate action on climate change. The UC3 members include research universities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Bronte Payne, 100% Renewable Campuses Campaign Director with Environment America, had this to say about the announcement:

“We’re thrilled to see the launch of the University Climate Change Coalition. This new collaboration will provide a great boost to further action on climate change and help communities make the shift to clean energy. Colleges and universities are well-situated to lead the charge. The higher education community has the ability and the know-how to lead by taking bold steps. We’re excited about the prospect of continued work on campuses across the country to help build the will for a transition to a clean, 100 percent renewable energy future.”
