In January, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) launched a State Home Energy Rebate Program called Energy Saver NC. This program will help households afford more energy efficient items in their homes such as heat pumps and insulation, resulting in lower energy bills for users.
The program will also help move North Carolina toward using more clean energy through upgrading electrical infrastructure in homes and putting money towards helping households switch from gas appliances to electric.

North Carolina’s launch of Energy Saver NC is part of a nationwide initiative to provide $8.8 billion in federal funding for states, territories and Tribes to offer rebates to reduce residential energy costs. Low to moderate-level income single-family households occupied by homeowners will be prioritized to receive these rebates initially, with a focus on high-energy burdened households and those impacted by severe storms.
Income-eligible North Carolinians can now start the application process to potentially save thousands of dollars on energy-saving home upgrades and appliances at www.energysavernc.org.
