Coloring for a Cause: Protect the Owyhee Canyonlands
IN-PERSON

At Sen. Wyden's Clackamas County town hall event, members of the Protect the Owyhee Canyonlands coalition delivered coloring sheets from 100 people of all ages calling for the designation of the Owyhee Canyonlands National Monument.
Several coalition partners, including the Oregon League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club Oregon Chapter, Love is King, Environment Oregon and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, and supporters came together at Sen. Ron Wyden’s Clackamas county town hall to demonstrate broad support for the creation of the Owyhee Canyonlands National Monument and press the senator to work with the president to protect the Owyhee before the end of 2024.
Immediately following the town hall event, ZieBee Media artist and illustrator Mackenzie Bakewell, delivered 100 unique coloring pages completed by people of all ages, along with an update on behalf of the coalition, highlighting recent public outreach efforts — from images of the billboards, mailers and recent media coverage to letters of support from Gov. Tina Kotek, U.S. Reps. Earl Blumenauer, Suzanne Bonamici and Andrea Salinas— to Sen. Wyden’s staff.
We’ll be continuing to collect new coloring sheets throughout October for another delivery in November.
