Help support our state parks
Support our parks: Secure robust and reliable funding for the well-being of all Oregonians.
By raising awareness and fostering a deeper connection to the Owyhee, we aim to build an even stronger movement that no one can ignore.
Despite tireless efforts from throughout the state as part of the Protect the Owyhee campaign, Congress has yet again failed to grant the Owyhee Canyonlands the permanent protections it so desperately needs. Dubbed Oregon’s Grand Canyon, this vast, stunning landscape is home to diverse plants, animals and breathtaking geological formations. Its beauty, ecological importance and recreational opportunities — hiking, kayaking and more — make it a natural treasure worth safeguarding for generations to come.
The recent decision in Congress is a setback, but it only strengthens our resolve. The fight for the Owyhee is far from over. Alongside our coalition, we will continue working to ensure that the Owyhee receives balanced safeguards as quickly as possible. This includes educating more people about the wonders of this remote and awe-inspiring area, from its dramatic river-carved canyons to its critical habitat for species like sage-grouse and pronghorn antelope.
With your help, we can turn disappointment into action and ensure the Owyhee remains wild and unspoiled for future generations.
