This has been a historic year for federal climate action. The recently passed Inflation Reduction Act will inject an unprecedented $369 billion into climate and clean energy programs.
On Thursday, September 22nd, Environment Oregon state director Celeste Meiffren-Swango joined Nora Apter from Oregon Environmental Council and Lindsey Scholten from the Oregon League of Conservation Voters for “Climate Conversation with US Senator Ron Wyden” to discuss the inside scoop on how the Inflation Reduction Act was passed, what’s in the law and how it will help tackle climate change in Oregon and beyond.
In addition to sharing more details about the bill and its benefits to Oregonians, Senator Wyden expressed his gratitude to advocates and activists for their role in getting the bill across the finish line by making their voices heard. “My closing address is just, thank you, thank you. The Oregon way is to get as far as you can in this battle and then we move on to the next and I just want y’all to know I’ll be partnering with you the rest of the way,” Wyden said.
