Oregonians are coming together to stand up for pollinators and wildlife by urging the state legislature to pass House Bill 2679, which would restrict the use of harmful neonicotinoid pesticides. These pesticides are a major threat to bees, butterflies, and other critical pollinators that help sustain our food systems and ecosystems.

Last weekend, Environment Oregon staff and volunteers hit the Portland Farmers Market to gather photo petitions in support of the effort to protect these precious pollinators. Dozens of market-goers stopped by to show their love for bees and sign on to help. These petitions, featuring smiling faces and heartfelt messages, will be delivered to the legislature as part of our Save the Bees campaign.
Pollinators are vital to Oregon’s natural beauty and agricultural economy, but their populations are in steep decline. By restricting neonics, Oregon can become the 13th state to take this important step to protect pollinators and preserve our environment for future generations.
If we don't put a stop to the overuse of toxic pesticides soon, bee populations will continue to collapse. Send a message to your legislators calling for heightened restrictions on toxic bee-killing pesticides today.
