NEW POLL: Majority of PA Voters Support More Renewable Energy
New polling shows that a large majority of bipartisan Pennsylvania voters support increasing renewable energy production in the Keystone State.

New polling from Global Strategy Group shows that a large majority of bipartisan Pennsylvania voters support increasing renewable energy production in the Keystone State. In fact, over three-quarters of Pennsylvania voters (78%) support significantly increasing the use of renewable energy like wind and solar to generate electricity. This includes 93% of Democrats, 84% of independents, and 59% of Republicans.
In response to today’s poll release, PennEnvironment’s Deputy Director Flora Cardoni noted,
“This new polling makes it perfectly clear: it doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat, Republican or Independent–Pennsylvanians from all walks of life overwhelmingly support policies to promote renewable energy in the Keystone State. This should give decision-makers at the local, state, and national level the confidence to embrace clean energy in the Commonwealth.”
At PennEnvironment, we hope the General Assembly will listen to the will of Pennsylvanians and get meaningful clean energy legislation to the finish line, including Community Solar legislation (HB 1842), Appliance Energy Efficiency Standards legislation (HB1615 and SB755), the Lake Erie Wind Development Act (HB 254), the Pennsylvania Reliable Energy Sustainability Standard (HB 2277 and SB 1190, also known as “PRESS”), and the Pennsylvania Climate Emissions Reduction Program (HB 2275 and SB 1191, also known as “PACER”).
