WASHINGTON -- President Joe Biden released a framework of the Build Back Better Act Thursday after weeks of intense internal negotiations. The act, which will move through Congress via the budget reconciliation process, would make historic investments in clean energy, including 10 years of tax credits that could lower the costs of rooftop solar by 30% and bring down the cost of an electric vehicle by up to $12,500.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- As Congress nears a deal on the Build Back Better Act, Environment Arizona delivered 3,100 constituent petition signatures to Rep. Tom O’Halleran’s Flagstaff office in support of bold federal action to address the climate crisis.
PHOENIX-- Environment Arizona delivered petitions on Thursday to the offices of Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly on behalf of 24,890 signers from across the state, urging bold federal investments in renewable energy and clean transportation to address the climate crisis. The petition delivery comes as Congress continues to debate the Build Back Better Act (BBBA), which would expand solar and wind power in Arizona, reduce pollution from the electricity sector, and help Arizonans buy electric vehicles and make energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.
The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote early next week on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a major bipartisan package for transportation, clean water, power infrastructure and broadband.
WASHINGTON -- After a summer of record-breaking air pollution, heat waves and an ongoing public health crisis, the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced legislation this week to address many of the pollutants most damaging to human health and the environment.
