Tell Walmart: Don’t stock toilet paper that destroys forests
The North American boreal forest is the largest remaining intact forest on Earth. Its trees provide critical habitat for wildlife and suck up tons of carbon pollution to help protect our climate.
The continued health of the boreal is vital to the health of our planet — but logging is shattering this forest into wounded, isolated pockets. We simply must stop logging the boreal if this irreplaceable ecosystem is going to survive intact.
It simply doesn’t make any sense to chop down such an important forest to make toilet paper and other tissue products, especially when alternatives like bamboo and recycled materials exist. I strongly urge you to commit to selling only forest-free tissue at Walmart and to reduce the amount of virgin wood pulp in your store-brand tissue products by 50% (or more) by 2025.
