Environmental benefits of compact and connected cities
Environment Texas Executive Director Luke Metzger participated in a panel discussion yesterday on how housing and transportation policy impacts climate change. He discussed a 2017 report by Environment Texas Research and Policy Center which documented how compact development can deliver tangible benefits for the environment – reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, curbing the flow of polluted runoff into streams and lakes, and protecting natural areas and agricultural lands.
