Environmental Leaders Call on Biden to Curb Fossil Fuel Pollution

On October 6th, Environment Texas Research and Policy Center, along with the Rio Grande International Study Center, the Lone Star Chapter of Sierra Club, Texas Impact, and the Environmental Defense Fund called on President Biden to publish upcoming rules proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency aimed at reducing the amount of methane and other toxic pollution associated with new and existing fossil fuel production.

Over 12,000 people from across the country – including some 1,000 in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Arkansas – sent petitions to the US EPA and President Biden urging his administration to move swiftly and publish strong methane rules that protect our climate and the health of our communities.

We are grateful for the EPA’s moving forward with these proposed rules and urge the Administration ensures it follows through with it.
