State parks like Enchanted Rock and Pedernales Falls are amazing places to camp, hike and see the stars at night — and they provide critical habitat for wildlife to live and thrive. But as the state grows rapidly, our parks system is bursting at the seams, struggling to meet public demand for recreation opportunities and protect the flora and fauna that call these parks home. Meanwhile, development continues to destroy Texas’ iconic rural character.

To ensure that we can preserve our state’s special places for future generations to enjoy, we’re working to add 1 million acres of new state parkland.
