Texas Gas Service rate proposal bad for consumers and environment

I testified to the Austin City Council on Thursday regarding Texas Gas Service’s proposed rate hike. About 10% of Austin’s carbon footprint comes from burning gas. When we burn less gas that means less planet warming and health-harming pollution. Unfortunately, Texas Gas Service’s rate proposal discourages conservation and spends ratepayer money on false solutions such as so-called “renewable natural gas.”
