100% clean energy bill clears Minnesota House
Legislation sets a new standard of 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040 passed the Minnesota House of Representatives by a vote of 70-60. The bill now moves on to the State Senate.
Minnesota has become the latest state to advance a commitment to 100% clean energy through the state legislature.
HF7, which sets a standard of 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040 passed the Minnesota House of Representatives by a vote of 70-60. The proposal, which has the support of Gov. Tim Walz, who included a 100% goal in his climate action framework. The bill now heads to the State Senate.
Ten states have committed to 100% clean or renewable electricity standards, with Rhode Island joining the “100% club” last year.
