Ban Toxic Pesticides

A sweeter new year for bees?

No bees would mean no apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.

I just celebrated the Jewish High Holidays, where it’s customary to eat apples and honey for a sweet new year. Of course, we couldn’t have apples and honey without bees, but honeybees and our many diverse native bees are in steep decline as we use more pesticides and destroy their habitat.

On Friday, I attended the first-ever White House Rosh Hashanah celebration hosted by President Biden. Here’s my message to the President on how he can deliver a sweeter new year for bees by ending the use of bee-killing pesticides in wildlife refuges.

This Rosh Hashanah, let's save the bees
