The Greater Chaco Landscape is now safer from drilling
Future generations will be more able to "breathe clean air, drink clean water and experience the night sky"

On Sunday June 11, staff members of the environmental and conservation groups had the privilege to represent our members at a ceremony to celebrate the protection 336,404 acres of public lands surrounding the park from oil and gas drilling.
In her remarks, Secretary Deb Haaland said that we want future generations to “breathe clean air, drink clean water and experience the night sky.” Protecting the Greater Chaco Landscape will advance that goal. Without equipment and rigs, there will less air pollution, less water pollution and less light pollution, preserving Chaco Canyon’s dark skies for years to come.
