Tell the FWS: Add monarchs to the Endangered Species List

Re: Docket No. FWS-R3-ES-2024-0137

Please add both the eastern and western monarch butterflies to the Endangered Species List.

Millions of beautiful monarchs used to grace our skies, but their numbers have taken a nose-dive. The eastern monarch population has declined by 80% since the 90’s, and the western monarch numbers have plunged by as much as 95% since the 80’s.

Pesticides have all but wiped out the milkweed that used to be abundant on and near farms throughout the Midwest. Between pesticides, habitat loss and climate change, monarch butterflies are struggling.

Let’s give these butterflies new protections to aid their recovery. We support listing monarchs as threatened and designating critical habitat.
