Protecting our natural environment is our human responsibility

Martha Morgan
Member, PennEnvironment

I enjoy forest bathing, kayaking, and sculpting human and animal figures. In 1967, when I was 14, I made a sign and took a bus by myself to Washington, D.C., to participate in a national protest against the Vietnam War. Since then, I have been engaged in social and environmental causes. As a Pennsylvania native raised in Bethlehem, I’m passionate about stopping oil and gas fracking, and I support PennEnvironment because of their success in the fight against fracking and work to tackle climate change. Protecting our natural environment is our human responsibility. We don’t own nature—we’re a part of it. The solutions are out there. The first step is to call our elected officials in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C. Let them know we’ll vote them out if they don’t act now.
